1. About These Terms

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of standatoys.com and any order placed with StandaToys s.r.o. ("we", "us", "Standa Toys"), a company registered in the Czech Republic (IČO: 12345678, DIČ: CZ12345678), Bohemian Street 12, Prague. These Terms are governed by Act No. 89/2012 Coll., the Czech Civil Code, as amended, and EU consumer-protection law including Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights. The legal documents on this site are prepared and maintained on our behalf by fastmedia.pro (legal@fastmedia.pro).

2. Made-to-Order — Please Read Carefully

Every piece sold on this website is handcrafted to order. Standa Toys does not hold finished inventory. Each item is carved, joined, and finished to the customer's exact specification — wood type, dimensions, finish, age-appropriate design, and any personalisation requested — after the order is confirmed.

Where a product is displayed as "In Stock" or with a quantity available, this indicates that the design is available for commission and that workshop capacity is open to accept the order. It does not represent a finished item sitting on a shelf. Upon order confirmation, your piece enters the production queue and is crafted within the lead time stated on the product page or in your order confirmation (typically 2–6 weeks depending on complexity).

Because each piece is made to your personal specification, the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal under § 1839 of the Czech Civil Code and Article 16(c) of Directive 2011/83/EU does not apply to commissioned pieces once production has begun. See our Return & Refund Policy for full details.

No two pieces are alike. Because every piece is handcrafted, there will most probably be a slight discrepancy between identical orders — in wood grain, colour, tone, and exact dimensions. This natural variation is inherent to handmade wooden work, is not a defect, and does not give rise to a right of return or refund. Lead time is typically between two and four weeks from order confirmation. By placing an order you acknowledge and accept this characteristic of handcrafted goods.

Product imagery and actual size. Lifestyle and contextual photographs shown on this site are generated for illustrative purposes and do not depict the true size or weight of the piece. The accurate dimensions and estimated weight for each item are stated on its product page, calculated from the piece's measurements and the density of the wood used. This calculated specification — not the imagery — is the reliable guide to the physical size of your order.

3. Ordering and Contract Formation

  • Placing an item in the cart and proceeding to checkout constitutes an offer to commission a piece, not a binding contract.
  • A binding contract is formed only when we accept your order by sending an order-confirmation email, which will include the agreed specification and the estimated completion and dispatch date.
  • We reserve the right to decline an order (e.g. if a specification is unsafe, technically impossible, or restricted by export rules) and will refund any payment in full within 14 days.
  • For custom commissions placed via the custom-order form, the contract is formed when you accept our written quote.

4. Lead Times

Lead times stated on product pages or in order confirmations are estimates based on current workshop capacity and the complexity of the piece. They are not guaranteed dates. We will notify you promptly if production is delayed beyond the estimate and will keep you informed of progress. If a delay is unacceptable, you may cancel the order before dispatch for a full refund.

5. Prices and Payment

  • All prices are shown in Czech Koruna (CZK) and include VAT at the statutory rate. Euro (EUR) prices are shown for convenience at the prevailing rate and may vary at checkout.
  • Payment is due at checkout via PayPal or Stripe (card payment). For large custom commissions, a deposit of 50% may be requested before production begins, with the balance due before dispatch.
  • Payment information is processed securely by our payment providers; we never receive or store your full card details.

6. Delivery

  • We deliver worldwide from the Czech Republic via Česká pošta, DPD, and partner carriers.
  • Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on destination and the estimated weight of the finished piece.
  • Delivery times stated by carriers are estimates and exclude the production lead time.
  • Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. For lost or damaged shipments, contact us within 7 days and we will assist with the carrier claim.

7. Returns, Withdrawal and Warranty

Your rights of withdrawal, return, and warranty are set out in full in our Return & Refund Policy. In summary: the 14-day withdrawal right does not apply to pieces made to your specification; the 24-month statutory warranty under § 2099–2117 of the Czech Civil Code applies to defects in materials and workmanship.

8. User Accounts

  • You may create an account to track orders, save favourites, and manage your details.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or are used fraudulently.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on this site — including product designs, photographs, illustrations, the Standa Toys name and logo, written descriptions, and page layouts — is owned by StandaToys s.r.o. or its licensors and is protected by Czech and international copyright and design law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit any content without our prior written consent. Product designs shown on the site are examples of our craftsmanship; the design of each commissioned piece remains our intellectual property unless a separate written assignment is agreed.

10. Product Information and Accuracy

We make every effort to ensure that descriptions, dimensions, wood types, and finishes shown on the site are accurate. Because each piece is handmade from natural materials, minor variations in grain, colour, and dimensions are inherent to the craft and do not constitute defects. Wood is a natural material and may change appearance over time with use and humidity; this is normal and expected.

11. Safety and Age Guidance

Each product page states the recommended age range. Toys intended for children under 14 are finished only with food-safe oils and beeswax and are designed to meet the spirit of EN 71 (European toy safety standard). Candle holders and items marked "16+" or "18+" are intended for adult use only and must be used in accordance with the safety instructions provided. Customers are responsible for supervising children's use of any toy.

12. Liability

We are liable for damages caused by our intentional or grossly negligent conduct, and for injury to life, body, or health caused by our breach of duty. For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of essential contractual obligations (cardinal obligations), and only up to the amount typically foreseeable for this type of contract — limited to the value of your order. This does not affect statutory consumer rights that cannot be excluded under Czech law.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms and any contract formed under them are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic. Disputes will be resolved by the competent courts of the Czech Republic. Consumers may also use the European Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr or the Czech alternative-dispute-resolution body, ČOI (Česká obchodní inspekce), Štěpánská 567, 120 00 Praha 2, www.coi.cz.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Terms applicable to an order are those in force at the time the contract is formed.
